When Jim Throneburg invented the Thorlos brand in the early 1980s, he dreamed of two new guiding possibilities:

  1. Sustainability of the company beyond his own lifetime.
  2. Being the best in the world at foot protection.

Our passion and purpose is to be Caretakers of the World’s Feet.

Owner and inventor Jim Throwburg

As a result, we at THORLO shifted our primary focus from the sock business to the relationship business. Our official vision and mission became all about Sustainable Relationships, and the Thorlos brand experience was born.

To live into our vision and mission, we have three core practices:

  1. We listen empathically to you

When you call THORLO during regular business hours, you’ll talk to a person, not an automated recording. You can expect anyone at THORLO to be not only kind and personable, but also knowledgeable and helpful. You will not feel hurried-- if your question or need takes 30 minutes to answer, then you’ll get 30 minutes… or more, whatever it takes.

  2. We create a nurturing environment

Our passion and purpose is to be Caretakers of the World’s Feet. We know that millions of people’s feet are hurting but that no two feet are the same; therefore, we want to take the time necessary to understand your individual situation so that we can be a true partner with you in finding the right foot protection solution.

  3. We provide you with information that saves you time and makes your life easier

We believe the value of convenience is immeasurable to you. When you invest in Thorlos, one of your returns on investment is the convenience of our services and products. Our products take a long time to wear out, not only saving you time—because you don’t have to replace them every few months—but also making that passing of time (on your feet) most enjoyable with profound comfort.

Every day we strive to learn and improve on some aspect of what we do and who we aspire to be… Caretakers of the World’s Feet.
